Our History
Around 2010, Gas Junky was born in André van Niekerk’s garage.
Being an adventurer himself – André had a 1ste person perspective of what exactly is required to secure & protect your adventure-toys.
For 15 years André nurtured and developed his Gas Junky baby with love, innovation and devotion. This was done to such an extent – that friendships and business relationships were never far apart.

As with every great adventure – the scenic route is not always the shortest. So in 2025 Gas Junky moved to the Garden Route with all stock, craftsmanship, quality and love included. In spite of the change of ownership, it still stayed in the family.
Hannes & Dirkie Rootman have been part of the Gas Junky story for many years & it was no big surprise that this great company is now in their loving care.
Apart from the fact that this awesome product now gets delivered by Couriers across the Country to the same – as well as new – amazing partner companies, not much has changed.
We are still developing and adapting products as required and are now also branching out to the 4×4 and greater-adventure community.
Our passion will always be to experience the satisfaction of manufacturing a high-quality, beautifully designed & personalized product for YOUR peace of mind.
